The 2^nd Annual Bolivar Slam Fishing Tournament to be held on May 20-21 2011.

The Texas Crab festival was started 26 years ago to promote tourism on Bolivar Peninsula and has since grown in attendance of up to 10,000. There are food & craft booths, crab legs contest, Texas Crab Fest wiener dog nationals, crab races, games, carnival, volleyball and horseshoes tournaments, and a kid’s stage with free entertainment and fun activities for the "little crabbies!" Some of the headlining acts this year are Hayes Carll, John Evans, The Blue Broussard Band, Bayou Roux, Butch Leger & Sons of Beaches and more!

This will be the 2^nd annual Bolivar Slam Fishing Tournament. What a great way to highlight the fishery on Bolivar Peninsula. This is an opportunity for those that know where the fish are and have the skill and knowledge that it takes to bring a big fish to boat. You don’t want to miss this tournament; so make some calls, get your buds together and bring your “A” game to take part in a fishing tournament that highlights the best game fish in the bay and surf.

Our committee has already been hard at work and is meeting regularly to ensure this year’s events are bigger and better than before. The proceeds of these events go to the Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce. Not only does the chamber promote tourism for local businesses, they also do service projects such as scholarship programs, participate in many civic projects and help keep the beaches clean.

Our goal is to promote our sponsors to an ever expanding attendance, offer opportunities for businesses to be a part of a high-visibility event, while raising money for the Bolivar Peninsula. We’re proud of the growth of our events and we hope that you would like to become a part of it. Our sponsorship levels and benefits are presented below.
