The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation Museum wine-and-cheese reception for Sidney Brown
The Bolivar Peninsula Cultural Foundation Museum held a wine-and-cheese reception for Sidney Brown from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. July 12th at the museum, 343 state Highway 87, across from Crenshaw School.
Her show, “Ocean Gems,” will be on display through Aug. 3 2008
Sidney Brown is a native Houstonian with lifelong ties to the upper Texas coast. She was educated in fine arts at the University of Texas in Austin. She became a designer in a Houston art studio, and in the mid-1980s, began her dream of teaching. She has taught every grade from elementary to high school. She came to the Bolivar Peninsula about six years ago when she met her partner, whose family had been in the area for generations.

Sidney came to the Bolivar Peninsula about six years ago when she met her partner whose family had been in the area for generations. The spark of Bolivar's colorful history and natural resources was ignited. This show is a celebration of this time and the wonders of the Gulf.
