The Stingaree Music Festival will take place on April 18-19-20 at The Tiki Beach Bar & Grill in Crystal Beach, TX In 2007 Hayes Carll realized his goal of bringing a songwriter based festival to the Bolivar Peninsula on the Texas Gulf Coast. The Stingaree Music Festival is a “boutique” festival providing fans of singer/songwriter based performing artists an alternative to the hustle and bustle of mega festivals. “I have always wanted to do a music festival in Crystal Beach. It is where I got my start performing music. I only spent four and a half years on Bolivar but I made a lifetime of memories. There were three constants in all of them; the people, the music, and the Gulf of Mexico. My goal in throwing this festival is to bring those three together in one place and share them all with my friends.” In 2007, there were 20+ performers and over 800 patrons. Performances were held on three different stages over the course of the weekend. "The festival attracted many visitors and brought great music to our community. The Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce and the community look forward with great pleasure to the return of the Stingaree Music Festival", added Anne Willis, President of the Bolivar Chamber of Commerce.
