Re: Business Openings is there a fee for visiting Fort Travis, restrooms available? also, do parking permits still apply for Crystal Beach due to Ike? not sure if it would help or hinder tourism? And will the rest of HWY87 add lighting as the Ferry landing has for night driving? Love the improvements so far.

Coconuts' Food is Wonderful!We visited Coconuts on 7/25 -- the staff was friendly, the tables are a little small, but the food is fantastic! Make sure you get the Signature Appetizer tray. We are SO glad that Bolivar is being rebuilt, and look forward to checking out more new/rebuilt places!

Re: Business OpeningsHello, Our family of 35 + will be there weekend of 7/16/2010. Can you give current update of business openings in Crystal Beach area. We have lodging, but need info on what/where/when places are open. Would rather spend time/money in Boliver/Crystal Beach than go to Galveton. Thanks

Re: Business OpeningsAs a local High Island resident I must say that Ike did bring an assortment of RV parks to the peninsula. From High island to Port Bolivar the opportunity for camping with a variety of hookups is available. Many were started or reopened to serve immediate resident's needs, workers who were providing clean up and construction and now once the major clean up is done we are blessed with a great choice to camp for a day, week or longer on the Bolivar Peninsula.NOTE:If you are one of those parks please visit our personal web site at jatexas.com and send me an email with your park's information and I will do a page for "local RV parks"...photos welcome.
