I am wanting to have my wedding on Crystal Beach July 4, 2009 and would like to know how I could go about doing it. I would like to request information on the rules and regulations involved with things such as large tents (possibly blocking off a section for the 7:00 wedding....I know that with the tents it would be hard for people to drive around them especially during the high tide), serving alcohol, permits, ect. My family has been going there since before I was born and it is a family tradition that we have all come to love. It just so happens that we always come for 4th of July so I know that the beaches a pretty packed during the day but all of my family will be there so we thought it would be the best time to do it....not to mention the free fireworks show! I would like to see if you would be so kind as to let me know what all I should do to start the process. I know it is far away but I would like to get a head start on the planning. I will be birding High Island next April (09) and would like some info on the Bolivar region. Lodging, distance to High Island, Bolivar attractions, anything to help plan my stay. I will be visiting Crystal Beach again next week for the first time in many years. I am just wondering if there are any new laws I should know about. In particular, what is this beach parking permit I''ve seen on a few websites? I will be driving a rental car. Also, is there a curfew on the beach or is overnight camping permitted? Please confirm so that I can enjoy my trip from Arizona without breaking any laws. Regards, E. Pipps

We have family coming the weekend of July 25. Are there any hotels in Crystal Beach for them to stay? We looked on the website for the Crystal Palace, but the reviews were awful. It would be for 3 Adults on a limited budget. Any suggestion would be appreciated. We have a cabin in Singing Sands West, but we will be filled to capacity. Thanks, Sandy

My sister lives in a small home on Waco in Gilchrist and she needs to have hand rails and a handicap accessible ramp constructed on her home. She is totally handicapped and was homebound until her husband died July 7, 2008. She depended on her husband for grocery shopping and post office as well as trips to her doctor. This unfortunate situation has put her in a predicamant. She can drive and take care of business but has an impossible task of exiting her house without physical aids. (handrails and ramp) Is there any organization in her area that could help her in this endeaver. She is on social security income and cannot afford to hire anyone. I would help but I too am physically and financially handicapped. Is there some type of volunteer organization in that area that could help her. I pray that God sends help quickly. Yours truly, Roy
